Makaria

I started doing webdesign in 1997 with Geocities (before Yahoo ruined it) and graduated to my college's server for a year before buying this domain in 2000. Since then, it has served as a personal site, a place to host projects, a place for the various email addresses I use, a place that hosted my personal blog (which has since moved to its own site), and web-hosting for other people. I'm currently trying to decide what I want to do with it and the only thing I will not do is give it up. Peacefulwaters.Org is part of who I have been for more than 20 years and it will remain a part of me for as long as it fits me.

When I am not staring at the screen of my laptop, I love to read, spend with my son Daniel, go for walks, cook, do taebo, explore western Washington, crochet (I'm a supporter of Project Linus), search for the perfect iced vanilla latte, and blog.

In case you can't tell, I'm Christian, more specifically Anglican, and going down to the most finite level, I am part of the Episcopal Church. I was a Religious Studies major and have part of a Masters in Theological Studies, so you *really* DON'T want to argue theology with me, especially if you are nitpicking about my eschatological or soteriological stances. (If you understood the last half of that sentence, you must be a theologian. If this is the case, I fear for your mortal soul.) I read Koine Greek and Ecclesiastical Latin fluently and I can work with Biblical Hebrew pretty well, so please refrain from explaining how some passage in the Bible predicts the End Times or why I as a woman should keep my mouth shut. (In other words, I know my Bible, darn it!) In terms of my faith, I am a convert and for that reason, I have a checkered "faith background" and am influenced by Lutheranism, Evangelicalism, Catholicism, and Eastern Orthodoxy in addition to the Anglicanism I claim.

I am a pacifist, an eco-freak, politically moderate, sort-of a feminist (in that I believe in the surprising idea that as a female, I am a person worthy of respect), a HELLP Syndrome survivor, a C.S. Lewis fanatic, and just... me.
