I’ve got pictures for various cooking entries. My thumb injury from grating potatoes for boxty is healing and I’ve got pictures for three more entries. I still need a cool title for my cooking entries. Any ideas?
I’m coming up with sponsor prizes right now. I might do an Amazon.Com gift card for bloggers who promote the event and I’m going through the stuff I have and seeing if any of it is worth giving away to those who sponsor me.
OK… onto books! Last week and this week have been a challenging in terms of writing Quick Takes because I can actually think of children’s books any other time except when I’m sitting in front of my laptop.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin. Eric Carle does this illustrations in this book from 30 years ago. The book has even been put to music and I learned the song at Daniel’s preschool program. It’s a soothing tune so it’s something I could sing to Brett.
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It’s a good book about teaching kids to give unselfishly and loving unconditionally.
Wee Sing books and CD’s. We had these on tape when I was little and I learned a number of songs this way. I think it would be ideal for a kid like Brett because music is a great way of learning language and facts.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi and Ronald Barrett. This isn’t an educational choice — it’s just a cool book.
