We have some new fans of Brett on his Facebook page. Welcome!

My birthday was this weekend and I got to watch my sister-in-law pushing Daniel on our swingset and play with him on the grass. I’m hoping next year at this time that I can be seeing pictures of Brett doing stuff like this with an adoptive family.

Let us pray…

[+] Thanksgiving for Brett and the things he could accomplish if we could get him to the States or Canada.
[+] Pray that we can find a mama and papa for him who can help him through his institutional traumas and behaviors with grace, firmness, and understanding.
[+] Pray that he stays healthy and safe.
[+] Pray that he has loving staff and volunteers at his orphanage.
[+] Pray that the threat of the institution stays far, far away.

Thanks!

I was going to comment on how Mother’s Day was yesterday but something I saw on Facebook has my attention.

Child of the Star Breather

Brett is not just an orphan. He is the child of the One who breathed the world into existence and the One who created the world has a plan for him. Lord, help me to be patient!

Let’s pray…

[+] Thanksgiving for Brett and the things he could potentially do with his life.

Thanks y’all!

Today, I managed to get Daniel completely soaked while I was watering the garden and I’m hoping that a year from now (or sooner), Brett will be able to do the same thing with his mama and papa. It might not be the same way that Daniel does it (he loves being “watered” with the hose attachment), but I’m sure he’ll love it nevertheless.

Let’s pray!

[+] Thanksgiving for Brett and the effect he has on all the hearts of those praying for him.
[+] Thanksgiving for the moms and dads of Reece’s Rainbow kids in Russia who channeled their donations to Brett’s grant after it became clear that the adoption ban wouldn’t be lifted any time soon.
[+] Pray that we can find a mama and papa for him who can help him through his institutional traumas and behaviors with grace, firmness, and understanding.
[+] Pray that he stays warm as Spring comes to Eastern Europe.
[+] Pray that he stays healthy.
[+] Pray that he has loving staff and volunteers at his orphanage.
[+] Pray that the threat of the institution stays far, far away.

Thank you!

I didn’t get prayer requests done last week due to my modem flipping out on Monday afternoon when I had planned to post them. Bad Guardian Angel! No cookie!

I’m reminded today of Jeremiah 29:11 which states that the Lord has plans for Brett, plans to give him a hope and a future. It’s hard for me to have patience right now but I’m having to trust that the Lord has the right parents for Brett in mind.

So… let’s pray!

[+] Thanksgiving for Brett and the effect he has on all the hearts of those praying for him.

Thank you!

I will admit that the search for a family for him can be frustrating at times. We were so close in December and it just didn’t work out. I think a lot of times, I erroneously believe that it’s my job to find him a family when it isn’t — it’s God’s job and I have to let Him work this out according to His timeline, not mine.

My son Daniel celebrated his 4th birthday a few days ago and I am holding out hope that Brett will get a family for his birthday this year instead of facing transfer to an institution.

So… here are the requests for this week:

[+] Thanksgiving for Brett’s life and the wonderful things of which he is capable.
[+] Thanksgiving that the Forty Days to Forever fundraiser added a bit to his adoption grant.
[+] Pray that we can find a mama and papa for him who can help him through his institutional traumas and behaviors with grace, firmness, and understanding.
[+] Pray that he stays warm in the cold Eastern European winter as it winds down and Spring comes.
[+] Pray that he stays healthy.
[+] Pray that he has loving staff and volunteers at his orphanage.
[+] Pray that the threat of the institution stays far, far away.

Thank you!
